It is hard to balance your sleep schedule because there are so many different factors that play into it. It is challenging to find the right balance between school, sports, sleep, and your social life. In college I have gotten in the habit of sleeping too much. I tend to neglect my homework and choose sleep instead. While that can be a good thing, to a certain extent, my life was not. balanced. I have had to learn to work through sleepiness and know that I will still get plenty of rest while also completing my homework. I also have gotten into a bad habit of napping after practice. This screwed with my nighttime schedule and made me rely too much on melatonin. However, over time I learned to be more disciplined. I refrain from napping and fall asleep at a reasonable hour. So that I am well rested in the morning and have finished my work.
